2025 - 2026 REPRESENTATIVE AND COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS
MEMBERS WANTED!!
PACO has a variety of leadership roles as a Representative or Committee Chair that are for a one-year term. These positions are a vital part in managing the ongoing processes for PACO. The PACO Executive Board will vote on these positions from applications submitted.
Representative positions are:
-Public Relations Representative - As PR Rep, you are tasked with the awesomeness of planning a fantastic Paralegal Day (with the assistance of a committee!) each year along with other networking events for PACO members.
-NFPA Primary Representative - As NFPA Primary Representative your duties include promoting the NFPA and its benefits to the PACO membership and working with other national associations to help promote the paralegal profession. You attend the annual NFPA conference, the Paralegal Development Conference, Region Meetings, monthly Board meetings, and other NFPA Representative meetings throughout the year.
-Statewide Representative/NFPA Secondary Representative - The Statewide Rep attends quarterly meetings of the Ohio State Bar Association Paralegal Committee to provide updates regarding PACO activities and working with other paralegal associations to help promote the paralegal profession. This position also includes duties as the NFPA Secondary Representative, which supports the NFPA Primary Representative in their role by attending meetings, telephonic meetings, Board meetings, the NFPA Annual Conference, and the Paralegal Development Conference.
-Student Liaison Representative - The Student Liaison Rep promotes the benefits of PACO, and NFPA to potential and current student paralegals throughout the various paralegal programs in Central Ohio.
Committee Chair positions are:
-Job Bank Committee - The Job Bank Chair facilitates the submissions from employers of open paralegal positions to be announced to the Membership so PACO members are aware of employment opportunities.
-Pro Bono Committee - The Pro Bono Chair schedules PACO pro bono activities in the community.
-Program Committee - The Programs Chair is tasked with planning and coordinating the monthly General Membership Meetings and Legal Insights sessions.
-Mentoring Committee - The Mentoring Chair pairs up senior paralegal mentors with junior and paralegal student mentees as a way for senior paralegals to pay it forward.
-Elections Committee - The Elections Chair handles the elections process every year. The Election Committee facilitates the application process for Board positions and the Representative and Committee positions available each term.
-Bylaws Committee - The Bylaws Chair maintains the current regulations and policies for PACO and performs an annual review of the documents for revisions that may be needed.
Sub-Committees Available:
There are also PACO sub-committees available that are appointed by the Executive Board or the Chairperson of that particular committee. The positions stated below do not require an application. If you are interested in any of the positions you can contact the Elections Committee chair at the email stated below and your interest will be forwarded to the appropriate person.
-Social Media Sub-Committee - This subcommittee, established by the Public Relations Committee, maintains, updates, and monitors PACO’s social media accounts, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter.
-OSBA Paralegal Certification Exam Study Group Sub-Committee. This sub-committee, established by the Mentoring Committee, shall meet periodically to prepare candidates for the annual OSBA Paralegal Certification Exam.
-PACO Education Day Sub-Committee. This sub-committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the PACO Biennial Education Day in September of odd numbered years.
-Photography Sub-Committee. The Photography Sub-committee will photograph PACO events based on availability.

2025 - 2027 PACO ELECTIONS FOR
SELECT BOARD POSITIONS
PACO is seeking members who are interested in leadership for their peers and the association! Below are the PACO leadership positions that we are currently accepting applications for.
BOARD POSITIONS
PACO has three elected Executive Board positions available: (i) President, (ii) Assistant Vice-President, and (iii) Secretary. The term for each of these positions is July 1, 2025-June 30, 2027. The duties of these Board positions are stated below.
President- The President shall preside at all General Membership Meetings, Legal Insights sessions, and all Executive Board Meetings; act as spokesperson for PACO as the need arises with the exception of the NFPA Primary and NFPA Secondary Representatives’ representation; serve as ex-officio member of all committees and/or subcommittees with the exception of the Elections Committee and Professional Ethics and Standards Committee (PESC); serve as the Chair of the Advisory Board Committee including presentation of semi-annual reports of PACO activities from the minutes and reports, assist with the PACO Awards of Excellence; update any calendar events on PACO’s website; prepare the PACO news message from the President; approve any non-budget expenditures in the event Board approval cannot be obtained when needed; and provide the name and contact information of the outgoing PESC Chair to the new incoming PESC Chair to ensure confidential documents are maintained.
Assistant Vice-President - The Assistant Vice-President shall be responsible for the organization of all committees, including receiving and submitting all committee reports to the PACO officers one (1) week prior to the Executive Board meeting. The Assistant Vice-President is also chair of the Professional Development Committee. A task for this committee involves oversight of luncheon roundtables. Currently, PACO offers a Workers’ Compensation roundtable.
Secretary- As Secretary, you will record the minutes of the Executive Board meetings; preserve in a permanent file all minutes and letters of value of PACO and its officers. The Secretary shall serve as statutory agent of PACO and is responsible for keeping PACO’s statutory filings up-to-date. The Secretary will be responsible for placing the Executive Board minutes on PACO’s website, as well as managing the Gmail account with the centralization of Board and Committee documents and maintaining the videos for membership, legal insights, and other PACO meetings.
