Teresa Scharf

TERESA SCHARF is an OSBA Certified Paralegal with over fifteen years of experience as a litigation paralegal and over twenty-five years in the legal services profession. An active member of the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio (PACO) since 2004 and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), she is PACO's immediate Past President. Since 2009, she has served as Chair of PACO's Pro Bono Committee and is the Director of the PACO's flagship program, the PACO / LASC Pro Bono Wills Clinic project. In her capacity as Chair of this committee, Teresa has been nationally recognized as NFPA's Individual Pro Bono Award recipient (2010), and PACO's Pro Bono Committee received NFPA's Association Pro Bono Award (2017). Teresa also serves on NFPA's Pro Bono Committee, and in 2018 and 2019 accompanied NFPA's Pro Bono Chairperson, representing NFPA at the ABA's Annual Equal Justice Conference. In 2018, she co-presented a session with NFPA's Pro Bono Chairperson about paralegals assisting and facilitating pro bono services. Previously, Teresa was PACO's Primary Representative to NFPA. She is also an associate member of the Columbus Bar Association (CBA) and the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), and she serves on the OSBA Paralegal Certification Board and OSBA Paralegal Committee, as well as on the Advisory Board of Columbus State Community College. Teresa has received other awards for her pro bono work, notably the 2014 Outstanding Pro Bono Support Award from the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. She obtained her degree in Paralegal Studies, cum laude, from Columbus State Community College in 2007. She is a paralegal in the Business Litigation Practice and Products Liability / Mass Tort Defense groups at Ulmer & Berne LLP's Columbus office.
